DME Service Solutions Launches First Remarkable CSR Event

Philippines – March 13, 2023 – DME Service Solutions celebrated this year’s International Women’s Day and reached a milestone by launching its first corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. The company launched the I Am Remarkable workshop in partnership with the Philippine Foundation for Breast Care Inc. (Kasuso Foundation).

Leading the activities was Karen Aguilar (Learning and Development and Communications Lead).

The executive team, headed by Ryan Holbrook (CEO and Co-Founder), Richard Lee (President and Co-Founder), and Sugar Evelyn Bitongga (SVP for Operations and Co-Founder) flew from the US to support the event.

During the workshop, breast cancer patients and survivors shared their remarkable journeys while battling through the disease. The discussion did not only focus on raising awareness. It also highlighted how breast cancer warriors continue to accomplish their dreams and live their lives to the fullest.

The event was a great success and left a lasting impression on all those who attended. The inspiring stories reminded DME employees to never forget to celebrate their remarkable achievements in the workplace despite the challenges they encounter.

“It was remarkable to hear the stories and emotions of the inspirational warriors/survivors and their battles. Some were single moms who did not want to leave their children to go through life without a parent. It truly gave our team perspective on life outside work and the importance of work-life balance,” Holbrook shared.

In her closing remark, Bitongga expressed the company’s gratitude by emphasizing how the success stories inspired and empowered the DME team. Likewise, members of the Kasuso foundation rendered a heartfelt song to show their appreciation and cap off the event.

DME Service Solutions also distributed skincare products to help beneficiaries who are undergoing treatment.

Statistics show that 3 out of 10 Filipinas suffer from breast cancer. DME Service Solutions is keen on raising awareness and advocating early detection to help minimize the occurrence of such diseases.

As Holbrook stressed, “When working at a start-up, it’s easy to get sucked into the day-to-day grind of building a successful business. Sometimes we need a different perspective to help us remember to be available for our family and friends. Life is short, this was an excellent reminder to care for our health and spend time with our families.”
